Island Park

This last weekend we went with some of Jake's friends up to Island Park for the day! His friend Ace has a cabin up there right on the lake so we loaded up the jet ski and the boat and made it an all day trip! It was SO fun! It was hot outside which made it easier to get into the semi cold water (much colder than Arizona lakes). We did some wake boarding, skiing, grilled some hot dogs, took long naps in the sun, and just enjoyed the last weeks of our summer vacation!
(Jake forgot to take pictures of me wake boarding.. but I promise I did it!)

Jake is really tall.. therefore he has big feet. So he needed lots of assistance to squeeze his big feet into wake board boots!

My life is exciting

So I get REALLY bored at work.. its the best job because me and the girl I work with try to find TV shows to get addicted to so we don't get so bored sitting at a desk for 8 hours every day (currently its Friday Night Lights). Well sometimes in the mornings it's just me so I try to find things to do. Lately I have been making my own recipe cards on picnik.com. It's so easy and they are so cute! When I get enough made I am going to print them off just as a picture at walgreens or walmart and put them in a photo album and then I will have my own recipe book! Here are a couple of recipes that I have made cards for :)

Just around the river bend...

Jake and I have always talked about wanting to float the river.... so we finally did it! We invited his friend Jesse ( a boy he works with and they served in the same mission) and his wife and got some giant tubes from their boss and we were on our way! Jake had floated this river before with his ward a couple of years ago.. and said it took about an hour and a half to two hours to float. Well.. we went around the circle once.. and it literally felt like we were floating for maybe 30 min. So we walked back to the beginning and did it again! Come to find out it was actually about 45-an hour one loop around but it felt so short the first time! The water was FREEZING! Arizona rivers do not get that cold... ever. haha but the second time we went it actually felt pretty good and it was a hot day! (We have sunburns to show for that) Then when we were done we finished our adventure day with some lunch at Costa Vida! Such a fun day!

Birthday!!

Yesterday was  my birthday and I loved spending it with Jake! The day started off with some skype and phone calls wishing me happy birthday from my family while Jake was mowing some lawns. Then he took me to breakfast at a yummy local breakfast place here in Rexburg. Next we came home and this boy SPOILED me! I just love him! I opened some great presents from him and I was shocked that he picked out a cute outfit for me and I liked it! He said he got some help from a lady at the store. haha.Next we packed up a yummy lunch and we headed out to Rigby lake because there was no wind and it was HOT outside! We got some good rays and headed home to get ready to go to Jackson, Wyoming with his parents and his sister and her baby. Jackson is GORGEOUS! I had never been there and it is a big tourist place and a very wealthy town. Famous people go there to vacation! We walked the streets and then hurried over to Bar J Chuckwagon. This place was awesome. You get a home cooked bbq meal, and then a very entertaining show of brothers being hilarious and singing awesome country songs and they were amazing! It is a family run business and I highly recommend it! It was a great birthday and I loved spending it with people I love!
Oh! I forgot to mention that while I was at work on Friday I had a special delivery for my from my husband with these gorgeous flowers!

I told this little punk to smile for this gorgeous view and obviously he didn't smile... on purpose!

Raspberry Freezer Jam!

We don't have anything really exciting going on in our life right now.. just enjoying being married! Well Jake's mom grows raspberries in her garden every year and there are tons! The whole garden is just raspberries because she makes yummy freezer jam every year. Well since I am married and all and need to be a good homemaker I decided to make some of our own! Super easy!

Step 1: Get nice husband to pick a whole bowl full of raspberries for you!
(So something I learned is that big ugly spiders like to chill out in the raspberry garden and I am NOT a fan of any kind of bug. sooo I took pictures of him picking instead!)

(Do you see him in there??)
He said the best berries are the ones on the bottom! He also told me that when him and his siblings were all little one of there chores was to come pick raspberries! I thought that was hilarious!

Step 2: Smash them all up, add some lemon juice, ALOT of sugar (I was surprised at how much you actually put in), add some light corn syrup and that's it! So easy!

Here is my yummy homemade raspberry jam! Maybe next I can learn to make bread to eat it with!
